Horrie Parsons is a local man from Lakenheath who served as the highly experienced Project Manager overseeing the massive Millenium Project to build the central tower and vaulted ceiling at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. This ran for several years until completion in 2005.
The Committee approached Horrie at short notice and asked whether he would be able to come and give his well known presentation titled “Building the Tower of St Edmundsbury Cathedral” at our October meeting. Fortunately for us the answer was yes, and Horrie came over from Lakenheath with his wife providing assistance with his boards, easels and artefacts. “I am Horrie’s ‘Roadie’ she said.
Horrie’s talk was very informative and peppered with amusing anecdotes from the many years that it took to complete the project. Here are some photos showing the before and after at the site.
