Railway Station

Construction

The railway came to Brandon in 1845 the station was built shortly after that. The station is built of brick with flint inlaid panels. Flint panels made from knapped gunflint cores face the platform and the west end which has been much repaired. The flint work facing the car park is random laid and unknapped. It appears that the roof might have been raised up about two feet a some point as the knapped gunflint cores stop about two feet short of the roof on the platform side and the remaining flint work above is of unknapped flint laid in random order.
